About the series
On December 23, 2019, the National Science Foundation (NSF) released the solicitation, NSF 20-530, for the competition to manage the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON). The solicitation, “Competition for the Management of Operations and Maintenance of the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON)”, invites proposals from qualified organizations to manage the operation and maintenance of NEON for the next five years beginning November 2021. The proposals should address the full suite of NEON O&M activities including, but not limited to, data collection, processing, curation, and access; sample collection, storage, and archiving; engagement of the scientific community; refining NEON protocols and operations; promotion of and training in the use of NEON data; maintenance of all physical infrastructure and equipment; and education and outreach.
On February 7, 2020, NSF will host a 1.5-hour webinar to discuss NSF 20-530, NSF’s expectations for the management of NEON O&M, submission of Letters of Intent, critical components of the proposal, and informational visits to NEON facilities. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer period.
It is anticipated that the webinar presentation will be posted following its completion. If technology allows, questions and answers from the webinar will also be posted.
Interested parties can join the webinar using the instructions shown below.
