About the series
This "NSF Day" is a day-long workshop providing an introduction to and overview of the National Science Foundation. Additionally, there will be presentations on the programs of five NSF directorates: Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Biological Sciences; Computer & Information Science & Engineering; Engineering; Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences; and Education and Human Resources. There will also be time for participants to chat informally with NSF program managers.
The National Science Foundation is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering, with an annual budget of nearly $5.47 billion. NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 universities and institutions. It is our hope that events such as this will stimulate new interest in NSF programs at institutions that have not been among our traditional customers, as well as at premier research institutions.
