About this event
The National Science Foundation and New Mexico EPSCoR are sponsoring two days of workshops to provide an introduction to and overview of the National Science Foundation, its mission, priorities, budget, and its proposal and merit review process. Additionally, there will be presentations on the programs of each NSF directorate: Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering, Geosciences, Computer & Information Science & Engineering, Education & Human Resources, and Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences. There will also be time for participants to chat informally with NSF program managers. In addition, the program will include a special workshop for community and tribal colleges and tutorial sessions on FastLane, NSF's web-based, interactive, real-time system for conducting Foundation business. These sessions will be held on Thursday, November 3rd. The full NSF Day program will be held on Friday, November 4th. The NSF Days workshops will be followed on Saturday, November 5th by the first annual New Mexico EPSCoR state conference. The National Science Foundation is charged with keeping our nation's science and engineering enterprise healthy, dynamic, and relevant and with advancing science, mathematics, engineering, and technology education at all levels from pre-K through postdoctoral. It is our hope that events such as this will stimulate new interest in NSF programs at institutions that have not been among our traditional customers, as well as at premier research institutions. There is no registration fee for this workshop; however, pre-registration is required. Please click on the link below to register via the New Mexico EPSCoR web site. |
