Synopsis
The BioXFEL Science and Technology Center (STC) is focused on developing X-ray free electron laser beam technology for its application to structural biology. X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFEL) produce short pulses that make them suitable for capturing images of rapid biological processes. XFELs offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore biological mechanisms. At the BioXFEL STC, there are four main areas of research and development: sample development, sample injector technology, data acquisition at the beam line, and algorithm development for image reconstruction. The BioXFEL education plan is designed to build communities of scientists that range from undergraduates to established investigators.
More information can be found at the BioXFEL website.
