His influence on U.S. astronomy in the second half of this Century is unsurpassed.

Presented by President Bill Clinton at a ceremony in Room 450, Old Executive Office Building, on Tuesday, December 16, 1997. Dr. Bruce Draine, Director, Princeton Observatory, accepted the Award.
