For evaluation of her hypotheses regarding the relationships between long-distance migratory behavior of monarch butterflies and dynamics of infectious diseases. Dr. Altizer is also known for her involvement of a diverse student population at the university as well as extensive outreach to the general public and teachers of environmental education.
