Division of Materials Research (MPS/DMR)

The U.S. National Science Foundation Division of Materials Research (DMR) supports investigation of the nature and capabilities of matter and materials. The division supports fundamental research that transcends disciplinary boundaries within science and engineering, leading to breakthroughs that enable new technologies, such as semiconductors and lithium-ion batteries. DMR also invests in advanced instrumentation, unique facilities broadly used by researchers and training and education for the next generation of materials researchers.
