Biography

Biography:

Dr. Jumoke (Kemi) Ladeji-Osias is the Deputy Division Director for the Division of Engineering Education and Centers (EEC) in the Directorate for Engineering at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Since joining NSF in 2021, Dr. Ladeji-Osias has served as a Program Director for the EEC Engineering Education Cluster, managing programs, and creating new opportunities for fundamental research as well as for design and development in engineering education. She also participated in cross-NSF activities on ethics and responsible conduct of research, emerging technologies in education including artificial intelligence, clean energy, climate change solutions, and broadening participation. She served as a U.S. Embassy Science Fellow to Djibouti in 2022.

Dr. Ladeji-Osias came to NSF from Morgan State University, where she was a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. School of Engineering. She served there as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies during 2018-2021 and as the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies during 2010-2016. She had a key role in several major NSF projects at Morgan, including Engineering for US All (E4USA), the national pilot high school engineering course; an Improving Undergraduate STEM Education project on adapting an experiment-centric teaching approach to increase student achievement; and building a partnership designed to broaden participation in engineering at Minority Serving Institutions. She earned her B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a joint Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
