Biography:

Dr. Ferrell is a program director for the Biological Anthropology Program in the Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences. Dr. Ferrell also serves as the Steering Committee Co-Chair for NSF’s CHIPS and Science Act Ethics Working Group, and the Co-Chair for the CHIPS and Science Act National Academy of Sciences Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research Working Group.

Dr. Ferrell’s research in biological anthropology has focused on paleodemography and reproductive aging. Before joining NSF, she was a scientific review officer at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health, an assistant professor of anthropology at Howard University, and a postdoctoral fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Population and Health.
