Algorithms in the Field (AitF) Program Webinar
December 18, 2014, 3PM to 4PM EST
NSF Room 1105
The Algorithms in the Field (AitF) program is a new NSF/CISE funding opportunity that aims to promote collaboration between theory researchers and those in more applied areas.
Bridging the gap between theory and practice in the design, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of algorithms can lead to new fields as well as broader cutting-edge applications. The premise is that by working jointly “in the field” researchers from these different communities will continually inform each other, innovate in their respective areas, and forge algorithms that are simultaneously validated by theory, systems, and applied communities.
Please join CISE for a webinar from 3:00pm to 4:00pm EST on Thursday, December 18, 2014, where we will cover the objectives of the AitF program, award types, and submission requirements. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session.
Questions about the solicitation can be submitted in advance to tkimbrel@nsf.gov.
Please register at https://nsf.webex.com/nsf/j.php?RGID=rc96022c37afb23736705ef2026683997 by 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
After your registration is accepted, you will receive an email with a URL to join the meeting. Please be sure to join a few minutes before the start of the webinar. This system does not establish a voice connection on your computer; instead, your acceptance message will have a toll-free phone number that you will be prompted to call after joining. Please note that this registration is a manual process; therefore, do not expect an immediate acceptance. In the event the number of requests exceeds the capacity, some requests may have to be denied.
The webinar will be archived for later viewing within a few days after the webinar and linked to the AitF program page at http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=505125&org=CISE&sel_org=CISE&from=fund.
