Welcome to the IIS Office Hours: Meet Gregory Hager, the new Assistant Director, CISE!
Hosts for this office hour:
Gregory Hager, Assistant Director, CISE
Michael Littman, Division Director, CISE/IIS Moderator
In June 2024, CISE welcomed a new Assistant Director, Dr. Gregory Hager. In this role, Dr. Hager oversees all of CISE’s activities across the fields of computer and information science and engineering. Join us for this month’s IIS Office Hours to meet Dr. Hager and ask any questions you might have about his work at NSF and his vision for the future of CISE. Dr. Hager is the Mandell Bellmore professor of computer science at Johns Hopkins University and founding director of the Johns Hopkins Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare. His research has focused on machine learning and artificial intelligence, especially on vision and robotics.
IIS Office Hours are for researchers interested in learning about programs and policies in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS) in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate (CISE) at NSF. Office Hours are designed to give current and potential investigators a window into IIS and other Directorate partners. Attendance at office hours is voluntary and designed to help investigators gain information that can help them strengthen their proposals. Sessions will be closed-captioned.
Please note that the office hours are designed to answer questions for a broad range of researchers and not inquiries about specific proposals. If you would like to talk about a specific proposal you are considering submitting or which has already been reviewed, please email the relevant program. This will connect you with program officers with whom you can ask questions.
