About the series
Welcome to the IIS Office Hours: The National AI Research Resource (NAIRR)
Hosts for this office hours:
Katie Antypas, Office Director, Office of Advanced Cyber Infrastructure
Alejandro Suarez, Program Director, Office of Advanced Cyber Infrastructure
Michael Littman, Division Director, Division of Information and Intelligent Systems
This office hours will focus on the current opportunities available to the IIS community through the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot. The NAIRR is a concept for a national infrastructure that connects U.S. researchers to computational, data, software, model and training resources they need to participate in AI research. IIS researchers may request NAIRR Pilot resources through nairrpilot.org. The NAIRR pilot is a proof-of-concept for the eventual full-scale NAIRR. The pilot will focus on supporting research and education across the nationwide research community, while gaining insights that will refine the design of a full NAIRR. The office hours will also discuss the DCL opportunity to contribute demonstration projects to the NAIRR Pilot.
The IIS Office Hours are for researchers interested in learning about programs and policies in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS) in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate (CISE) at NSF. Office Hours are designed to give current and potential investigators a window into IIS and other partners. Attendance at office hours is voluntary and designed to help investigators gain information that can help them strengthen their proposals. Sessions will be closed-captioned.
