Andrew Titmus joins OPP as Environmental Program manager
The Office of Polar Programs is pleased to welcome Dr. Andrew Titmus as the Environmental Program manager.
Dr. Titmus received a M.S. in Marine Science at Hawaii Pacific University and a Ph.D. in Zoology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his research focused on the conservation biology of threatened seabirds in American Samoa. Dr. Titmus first joined the Office of Polar Programs as the 2017 Knauss Marine Policy Fellow, where his focus was on environmental stewardship in Antarctica and he served as a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Antarctic Treaty. Subsequently, Dr. Titmus spent a year as an Environmental Analysis Specialist, working for the Leidos Antarctic Support Contractor in the area of environmental impact analysis for Antarctic research and operational support activities. From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Titmus worked as an Analyst at the Government Accountability Office, focusing on improving collaboration and program performance in the area of Natural Resources and the Environment.
