As of June 28, 2023, the Advisory Committee for Polar Programs was dissolved, and its members were invited to join the Advisory Committee for Geosciences.
The Advisory Committee for Polar Programs operated from 1998 - 2013 and then functioned as a subcommittee of the Advisory Committee for Geosciences from 2013 to 2017. The Advisory Committee for Polar Programs was re-established in 2017 and dissolved in 2023.
