Remembering Lene Kielsen Holm

On behalf of the National Science Foundation’s Office of Polar Programs, U.S. Embassy Copenhagen, and U.S. Consulate Nuuk, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the colleagues, friends, and family of Lene Kielsen Holm. Lene was a colleague and collaborator to many in the U.S. research community who work in Greenland and across the Arctic. She was a true pioneer in the area of Knowledge Co-Production, where she developed concepts and practices for bringing researchers and local users of the land and ocean (such as hunters and fishers) together as equals on collaborations. She also received several well-deserved awards for her contributions to Arctic science. She will be remembered for her dedication to Arctic science as well as her knowledge, experience, friendship, and the way she made us all feel welcome. Our thoughts are with all who are experiencing this loss.
