Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)

A new office at the U.S. National Science Foundation.

The U.S. National Science Foundation Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) supports centralized information technology and data activities across the agency. 

Established in 2024, the office oversees and coordinates the following activities at NSF: 

  • Digital innovation and governance. 
  • Data and artificial intelligence (AI) services. 
  • Development, operation and security of IT services.
