The U.S. National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-CorpsTM) Hubs form the operational backbone of the National Innovation Network (NIN), which consists of universities, NSF-funded and other researchers, established entrepreneurs, local and regional entrepreneurial communities, and federal agencies.
Hubs work collaboratively to build and sustain diverse and inclusive innovation networks across the country. Through its national and regional training programs, Hubs train researchers to bring promising ideas from the laboratory to the marketplace.
Hubs strategic goals
Hubs have three strategic goals within the NIN:
- Training - Deliver regional I-Corps training at partner institutions, and staff national instructional teams.
- Expansion - Identify, recruit and support teams for regional I-Corps training and recommend teams for the national I-Corps program. Grow the Hub by identifying new member institutions.
- Evaluation, assessment and research - Collect and analyze data from participants in the regional program to evaluate and improve on the Hub's performance, and conduct entrepreneurial research.
