Dr. Kevin Archibald is an oceanographer who uses mathematical models to study marine food web dynamics and biogeochemistry. Archibald holds a doctorate in biological oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program in Oceanography and a Bachelor of Science in quantitative biology from the University of Delaware. After completing his doctorate, Archibald was awarded a Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship in Marine Microbial Ecology to study the evolution of marine mixotrophs in a warming climate at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to his research activities, he is involved in mentoring undergraduate researchers and efforts to increase inclusion in science. As a science and technology policy fellow, Archibald is excited to apply his scientific expertise to promote evidence-based solutions to climate and environmental problems.
