With an annual budget of almost $800 million, the U.S. National Science Foundation Directorate for Engineering (ENG) supports over 300 diverse academic and research organizations across U.S. states and territories. We invest in the creation of new engineering knowledge and cutting-edge technologies across disciplines.
Most of the directorate's funding is awarded through our core research programs housed in its divisions and offices. This page lists funding opportunities organized by division and office.
You can also visit the Funding at NSF page to learn more about opportunities aimed at students and researchers based on career stage and information about preparing and submitting a proposal. Visit the Funding Search page to explore all NSF funding opportunities.
Proposals are evaluated through the merit review process outlined in the Proposal Award Policies and Procedures Guide.
