GEO selects John Hannan as deputy division director for AGS
Before joining NSF GEO, Hannan served a 19-year career at the Department of Defense's Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). During his tenure at DTRA, Hannan led numerous multidisciplinary teams of civilian, military and contractor scientists engaged in numerous programs spanning from basic and applied research to advanced development, focused on military readiness and national security.
Before joining DTRA, he spent three years in the Northrop Grumman Corporation's Defense Enterprise Solutions sector, where he honed his skills in numerical weather prediction, dispersion modeling, systems engineering and project management.
Hannan earned his doctorate, master's and bachelor's degrees in meteorology from Florida State University. He brings extensive experience leading and administering research and development programs in government and industry.
With Hannan's appointment, David Verardo will step down as acting deputy division director and return to his role as a program director.
