Office of Strategic Initiatives (MPS/OSI)

The MPS Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) supports crosscutting research, education, workforce training and infrastructure in areas of strategic importance for NSF's mission and more broadly for the U.S. scientific enterprise.

OSI engages with the entire mathematical and physical sciences research community through the five MPS divisions: Astronomical Sciences, Chemistry, Materials Research, Mathematical Sciences and Physics. The office also partners with other federal agencies, national laboratories, private industry, state and local governments and international organizations.
